At Glen Eira Dental we make coming to the dentist fun and interactive for your children. We are family friendly and aim to create a welcoming and supportive dental environment. Here at Glen Eira Dental we promote oral healthcare for children of all ages and encourage healthy home dental hygiene habits and diets. We recommend children have their first dental check up from the age of 2 years and we provide an array of services. These services include:

Root Canal Treatment

The aim of root canal treatment (also called “endodontic” treatment) is to save a tooth that has been badly damaged due to decay, disease or injury.

Root canal treatment is successful in most cases if you take good care of the treated tooth. It may last for many years and possibly the rest of your life. In most cases a Root Canal treated tooth will require an onlay or a crown after Root Canal treatment is deemed to be successful.

As Root Canal treatment can be costly your tooth will not be treated unless the treatment is likely to succeed. Endodontic treatment may not be appropriate in some cases and extraction may be the best or only option.

Crowns and Bridges

Crowns fit over and replace the existing natural teeth like a cap. Bridges replace one or more missing teeth, they consist of an artificial “Floating” tooth anchored to the crowns of each side of the gap.

Crown and Bridges are usually made of porcelain or metal alloy. Metal alloy is used for its strength, hardness and durability. It is especially useful for molars which must withstand the forces of grinding and crushing.
