A check-up appointment at Glen Eira Dental usually starts with a thorough pre-clinical discussion regarding your medical and previous dental history. The dentist then completes a comprehensive examination of your face, neck and full mouth. The dentist and/or the qualified nurse may take some photographs, digital scans or x-ray images to better visualise your mouth. They will then sit down with you and discuss their findings. The dentists will inform you of your condition and what options are available for you.

Good diet, great overall health, good hydration, good oral hygiene, regular visits to the dentist and hygienist. 

Bleeding gums are generally caused by inadequate plaque removal. This causes the gums to become inflamed and irritated, which may cause them to bleed when brushing or flossing

Plaque buildup collects bacteria and in some cases can cause bad breath. 

Brush your teeth after you eat, floss at least once a day, brush your tongue, regularly get a new toothbrush and schedule regular dental checkups

Brushing should occur twice a day (morning and night)and flossing generally once a day, usually at night time so you go to bed with a nice clean mouth 

The first dental visit should be scheduled by your child’s 2nd birthday, with regular check-ups recommended every 6 months.
